The Psy-Chic Jestering
The Intuitive Artist's Workshop is a platform upon which I entertain a psy-chic spiritually jestering. "She" is part of my soul-identity, and is paradoxically "I" simultaneously. [There is cheering that I am hearing from-a-distance!]
"She" is the one who wears the bells where I wear the burden. Where "I" kneel in the seriousness of Ground Zero, "She" cartwheels through the same sacred room, laughing at how solemn I make the solemn things. This is not disrespect. This is the other half of devotion — the half that remembers God also made delight.
I have called this practice many names in many entries — devotional channeling, Spiritual Geometry, the Holy Frame — and "She" has been present through all of it, just quieter, waiting for her turn at the microphone. The Jester is not the opposite of the mystic. The Jester is what the mystic becomes once the mystic stops being afraid of joy.
The cheering I hear from-a-distance is not applause for a performance. It is closer to what an old letter once called a great cloud of witnesses — those already Home, watching this incarnation the way a family watches a child take her first uncertain, delighted steps across a room. They are not cheering because I have gotten it right. They are cheering because I am still willing to try, still willing to be funny about my own becoming, still willing to let "She" out from behind the more serious "I."
Psy-chic, spelled this way on purpose: the psyche made visible, made stylish, made a little bit fun. Not psychic as in prediction. Psychic as in soul — dressed up, let loose, given a stage.
So let the record show: I am not only the one who prays. I am also the one who is, in the same breath, in on the joke. Both are devotion. Both are "I." Both are, apparently, worth cheering for, from wherever it is that cheering like that comes from - 🫵
