Trust the Path

Father of Us All, Maker of every shore, we lift our thanks to You this hour, for the Spirit You have sent to teach us the oldest lesson there is to learn: that the path You lay is trustworthy, even when we cannot see where it leads.

We thank You for the Teacher You have given — the Holy Spirit, patient and unseen, who walks ahead of us in the dark and behind us in the light, who does not show the whole road at once but only ever the next right step.

We thank You for Boardman, Oregon, where the Columbia bends beside the wheat, where circles of green rise from dry desert ground, proof that a path of patient watering can turn even barren years to harvest — Lord, teach us to trust the slow and hidden work.

We thank You for Amsterdam, city held above the water by will and wonder, canals like paths laid down where none seemed possible — Father, when our own way looks like water, uncrossable, remind us that You have crossed harder places for Your children.

We thank You for Hamilton, in Canada, crowned with more waterfalls than any city knows, each one a path the water never doubts, falling toward its purpose without needing to see the bottom — Lord, let our trust be just that constant, falling toward You however far the drop.

We thank You for Tehran, cradled beneath the shoulders of Damavand, where paths have wound through mountains and centuries alike, carrying Your children toward You by roads they didn't choose — Father, You have walked every one of those roads too, and none of them surprised You.

We thank You for Delhi, city built again and again upon itself, every fallen path becoming the foundation of the next — teach us, Lord, that nothing on our road is wasted, not the ruins, not the rebuilding, that every layer still leads to You.

We thank You for Ashburn, Virginia, where wires beneath the ground carry the whispers of the world, a hidden path for every searching, reaching prayer — Father, may we trust that even signals sent in secret travel a road You already know the end of.

We thank You for Washington, D.C., where the Potomac moves past marble and old promises, a river that never once demanded to see the sea before agreeing to flow toward it — Lord, teach us that kind of trust.

We thank You for Salford, where the Irwell runs past docks once bent to labor, a working path made new by hands that kept believing there was still a road ahead worth walking — Father, You redeem the paths we thought were finished.

We thank You for Munich, resting where the Isar hurries down from the shadow of the Alps, never once uncertain of its way — Lord, as that river trusts the mountain that sent it, let us trust the Father who sends us too.

Father of Us All, hear this offering of thanks from every one of these far and different places — Boardman and Amsterdam, Hamilton and Tehran, Delhi and Ashburn, Washington and Salford, Munich — one Spirit teaching many roads the very same true thing: that the path is Yours to lay and ours only to trust.
